Capital Letters Bug: Files Saved as ALL CAPS

Does anyone else have the problem of files that are edited automatically saving as all caps?

Randomly, if I edit existing files and save them, they are changed to all caps, e.g. index.html is now INDEX.HTML.

The only variation that I imagine that I have from many other users is that I work directly out of a SugarSync or Dropbox folder. I’m not sure if that could lead to this, or if this is a “known issue” amongst my fellow users.

Any thoughts?

Print stylesheets in CSSEdit and Espresso

CSSEdit’s live preview has completely spoiled me. So wonderful to be able to see changes happen as I make them, then adjust accordingly.

As far as I can tell, there’s no way to use CSSEdit or Espresso to live edit print stylesheets. Which means I’m back to the old world of make a change, refresh, repeat, a cycle I left without looking back.

Any chance we could get a live print preview with Xray and the CSSEdit “Applied Styles” inspector and all the rest? It would be especially useful to be able to preview print-specific things like pagination as well.

If anyone has come up with a good workflow for making print stylesheets, chime in!

PHP Live Preview?

How do I get the PHP live preview to work? All it is doing is displaying code at the moment. I’m running OS X 10.6 on a new Macbook Pro. Do I need to install PHP or something?

I have MAMP but live preview doesn’t seem to be able to be run on that, so can anyone let me know what it is I need to do to get it working?

Projects are duplicating??

I’ve noticed that the project browser is duplicating some projects without me doing anything. It seems to be happening with projects that I have worked on recently. The links go to the same location on my hard drive, and there only appears to be one .esproj file in each project folder.

So I don’t see why it’s adding duplicates??

I’ve highlighted what I mean with an attached image. If anyone has any ideas what might be wrong that would be great.

CSSEdit and LESS

I found that Espresso works just fine with .less files, but not with CSSEdit. Is there a way to get CSSEdit to open and save to these .less files? Would it be possible to add support for LESS if not?

Variable and Bracket Highlighting

I would love to see two features:
1. variable highlighting a la Netbeans. I work with PHP and, in Netbeans, when you place the cursor in a variable name all instances of the variable are highlighted. This makes it trivial to see if you have mistyped a variable and to trace that variables usage throughout the code.

2. I would also like to see opening and closing brackets highlighted when selected, similar to what Coda does. However if it could be expanded to highlighting all opening and closing elements that would be awesome (for example opening and closing div tags in html.)

Hello, new to the forum, pretty new to Espresso and loving it. But I couldn’t find this in the help or in this forum (or anywhere really):

Is there a way to tell Espresso to search and replace only on the selected text?

This is a crucial feature.

I’d like to know how to disable the code completion feature in Espresso? Sometimes it’s handy, but other times it’s annoying.

Project Tree Sorting

Just want to throw in my request for sorting the project tree to group folders and files together. Currently it’s sorted alphabetically and mixes folders and files. Would be nice to choose sorting as a preference.

Hi, I am currently testing out Espresso and it looks absolutely awesome. I love the way addon support is done.

Currently though, I can’t really make the switch as it is lacking some features that I cannot live without. I’m hoping that I’m just blind and these features are actually hidden somewhere though :p

Here’s my list, please let me know if there is any way I can use these features or if there are some sort of alternatives

- TAB auto completion for snippets (textmate style)

- “Codesense” for custom functions

- PHPDoc support (when I write “/**” and hit enter it should automatically add some phpdoc code relative to the next line of code).

- Customizing keys? I’d like to set shift+del to delete the current line ..

- Macro’s ?

I’m sure there’s more features I’ll be missing as I continue testing this product, but those are the main ones.

I realize much of this can be done by creating sugars, but I do not have a lot of time to develop these as I am busy enough with my own job
